Our Commitments to Corporate Social Responsibility

Let’s address the topic of CSR with seriousness and responsibility! Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is an approach that aims to balance social measures, reduce environmental impact, and pursue economic initiatives.

At Alpis, we have chosen a respectful approach towards society and the environment. We have set up a dedicated CSR committee, responsible for implementing responsible actions, assessing our performance, and monitoring the impact of our activities on society and the environment.

France’s Diversity Charter

On 13 June 2024, Alpis Translation and Interpreting officially signed the France’s Diversity Charter (Charte de la Diversité), the national initiative led by the association Les entreprises pour la Cité. This signature places non-discrimination and diversity at the very heart of our company policy.

As a signatory, we are concretely committed to:

1. Raising awareness and providing training for our directors and managers — and, progressively, all our staff — on the issues of non-discrimination and diversity;
2. Promoting non-discrimination in all its forms in every aspect of our management and decision-making, particularly at each stage of human resources management;
3. Encouraging the representation of society’s diversity — in all its cultural, ethnic, and social richness — within our workforce and at all levels of responsibility;
4. Communicating our commitment to our staff, clients, partners, and suppliers, in order to encourage them to respect and implement these principles;
5. Making diversity a subject of social dialogue with staff representatives;
6. Assessing and reporting regularly on the progress made, both internally and externally.

For a company whose business is to facilitate dialogue between languages and cultures, diversity is not simply a commitment: it is our very reason for being.

Our Social and Environmental Commitments

CO2 Neutral

Alpis strives to reduce our environmental impact by offsetting our residual CO2 emissions. The “CO2 neutral” label is awarded only after serious efforts to reduce our carbon footprint. This demonstrates our genuine commitment to the climate.

Global Compact

Alpis is a member of the United Nations Global Compact. We are committed to aligning our activities with the principles set out in the UNGC Charter. Furthermore, we respect human rights, combat discrimination, and promote decent and fair work. And we stand firmly against corruption!

Forward Faster

In 2024, Alpis joined Forward Faster, the United Nations Global Compact initiative that mobilises businesses to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. We have committed to the Water Resilience target, for more responsible and sustainable water management within our operations and value chain.

CEO Water Mandate

Building on this commitment, our president signed the CEO Water Mandate on 8 November 2024. Led by the United Nations Global Compact and the Pacific Institute, this platform brings together leaders dedicated to water preservation (water stewardship) around six areas of action and regular progress reporting.

Pledge 1%

We are members of the Pledge 1% movement. Aware of our social responsibility, we actively contribute to the development of charitable organisations by allocating a percentage of our time and profits to these causes. In this spirit, we are able to support initiatives that have a positive impact on society.

Acce-o

We are actively working to promote inclusivity for our clients and staff. Alpis Translation and Interpreting offers services that enable deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals to access our services by telephone. We strive to ensure that all our clients and staff can communicate with us easily and effectively. This certification is generally issued by the Acce-o organisation.

These commitments to CSR compliance demonstrate our determination to contribute to building a more sustainable, fair, and inclusive world. We are aware of our role as a company and are committed to taking responsible measures to minimise our impact on society and the environment.

Our Responsible Actions

• Gender equality: We are actively working to promote gender equality within our company. This commitment is reflected in our recruitment process as well as in our responsibility and remuneration policies, ensuring that we provide equal opportunities for all.
• Ongoing staff training: We place great importance on the continuous training of our staff. We regularly assess their skills and offer them opportunities for professional development. In this way, we encourage their fulfilment and progression within the company.
• Diversity among staff: We value diversity within our team. We recognise the benefits of having staff who are native speakers/from diverse backgrounds, which fosters an inclusive and creative working environment.
• Respect for translators, interpreters, and subcontractors: We place great importance on respecting our staff, translators, interpreters, and subcontractors. We are committed to working with recognised professionals and ensuring they receive fair remuneration.
• Use of refillable and reusable supplies: We make conscientious choices regarding our office supplies. We favour products that are refillable, reusable, and recyclable. For example, we use recycled paper, collect and recycle ink cartridges and batteries, and have implemented a waste sorting system.
• Raising awareness of eco-friendly printing: In addition, we encourage responsible printing by limiting paper printouts. We provide a paper version only on request, which helps reduce our consumption and preserve natural resources.

These actions reflect our commitment to corporate social responsibility and our determination to make a positive contribution to society and the environment. We continue to assess and improve our practices to remain at the forefront of sustainability and responsibility.
